Obituary of Neil Henry

HENRY, Neil

With much sadness and many happy memories, our Dad and Papa passed away peacefully on the morning of Friday, January 4, 2019 at the age of 85.  Predeceased by his beloved wife Doreen.  Survived and missed by his daughters Lynn Benson (Jeff) and Lugene Ciolfi (Albert).  Loving Papa of Jordie Schwartz (Tyler), Katie Smits (Jay), Scott Ciolfi (Jenn) and Thomas Ciolfi and Great Papa of Brent and Henry Schwartz and Victoria Ciolfi.  Survived by his sisters Elaine Lambert, Sylvia Coverdale, Lila Fenton, Karen Grabell, Colleen Barrick, and Sandra Gibson (Joe). Predeceased by his parents Earl and Gladys Henry, sister Phyllis Aldridge and an infant sister Lola Henry. Survived by sister-in-laws Phyllis Page, Joanne Mosolf and brother-in-law Carman Cook.  Predeceased by sister-in-laws Barbara Cook, Marj Mosolf, brother-in-laws Ken Mosolf, Howard Page, Orland Lambert, Alan Coverdale, Roy Grabell and William Fenton.  Survived by many nieces and nephews.  For his entire life Neil was a hardworking and caring person serving as a volunteer on the Township of Wainfleet Fire Department and just recently received recognition for 60 years membership with the masonic lodge.  Neil worked as the Works Superintendent for the Township of Wainfleet for many years.  After retiring he worked for Davidson Funeral Home.  Neil and Doreen enjoyed many years of travel and loved spending time with their family.  To all who knew Neil, will remember him as a quiet, caring man and true gentleman.  The Henry family will receive visitors at the DAVIDSON FUNERAL HOME, 135 Clarence Street, Port Colborne on Sunday, January 6th 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.  At Neil’s request, a private family graveside service will take place at a later date.  If so desired, memorial donations can be made to a charity of one's choice.  The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Portal Village and the staff at Douglas Memorial Hospital. Online condolences and guest register available at www.davidsonfuneralhome.com
