Obituary of Douglas Taylor

TAYLOR, Douglas James.  December 1, 1928 – January 25, 2019.  The Sun shone on the 25th of January with news that our beloved Douglas James Taylor has passed in Port Colborne.  Caring husband of 58 years to Margaret.  Loving father of Steve and his wife Bunni, and Brian and his wife Maria.  Kind and gentle Grandpa of Cathryn, Alyx, Jimmy, Breana and Kevin.  Predeceased by his parents James and Mary Taylor, sister Barbara Stroulger and brother Hugh Taylor (Ottawa).  Husband, Father, Grandfather he will be greatly missed.  He spent his life educating all those around him starting with elementary school in Coppercliff. His career flourished; he moved to Cooksville, then Connaught Elementary School in Ottawa and finishing at the High School of Commerce while administrating ESL (English as a Second Language) to New Canadians at night.  Active in the community, his passions included Christmas Cheer at Rideau Park United Church in Ottawa, Meals on Wheels, The Prostate Gurus and a warm welcome from the St. James and St. Brendan Church in Port Colborne.  Family and friends are invited to visit on Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at the DAVIDSON FUNERAL HOME, 135 Clarence Street, Port Colborne from 2-4 p.m.  A Memorial Service will be held at St. James and St. Brendan Anglican Church, 55 Charlotte St., Port Colborne with The Reverend Canon David Linn officiating on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. A private family interment will be held at a later date.
