My Uncle Howard was an absolute gem, I have so many found memories growing up when Dad, and his 2 brothers were together at Darlins house, maybe it was because I was the only boy there with my sister and all my cousins, I seemed to be the one that had all the pranks played on .
I remember one day Howard took me to the BBC studios where he was working on Dr Who , he took me into a dark studio, told me to close my eyes, he turned the lights on and the place was full of Daleks , still gives me nightmares to this day.
When we were back in London a few years ago now, I was working selling ties and Howard made me a silicone tie for Christmas complete with cartoon drawings of Kim and I on our adventures. Speaks volumes of a person I think to make you a gift, regardless of what it is.
We visited Howard a couple of years ago and spent the day reminiscing, he told me so many stories about the brothers growing up , it was beautiful and I think he almost enjoyed recounting those tales as much as I did listening.
Thank you Howard for the influence you had on me, I will remember those times for ever.
